La Casa de l'Albera in Argelès-sur-Mer

Casa de l’Albera means “house of the Albera” in Catalan for a reason. Right in the heart of the village, this museum is THE cultural place to visit to retrace the history of the Albères massif. Benvinguts a la casa*!

*Welcome home

A place steeped in history

If you’re strolling through the village, make a detour to La Casa de l’Albera, a completely renovated traditional house. It presents the history, culture, heritage and know-how of Argelès and the Albéra massif.

Through 4 exhibitions (one of which is temporary), you can explore the geology of the Albera mountain range, Catalan history and customs, and agricultural trades.

Join our guides to discover the rich past of Argelès, a royal town in the Middle Ages, torn between the conflicts of the kingdoms of Aragon and Majorca!
