A story fascinating
Château de Valmy has a fascinating history that began in 1888, when Jules Pams, a lawyer from Perpignan with a passion for politics and wine, married Jeanne Bardou-Job and decided to build the château on the remains of Mas d’En Frère, an estate dating back to the 13th century. After a brilliant political career and the success of its natural sweet wines, the château passed into the hands of Victor Peix, a visionary entrepreneur who modernized viticulture and consolidated the estate’s reputation. After a period of decline, the château underwent a renaissance under the direction of Bernard Carbonnell, Peix’s grandson, who undertook an extensive restoration, breathing new life into the estate and its vineyards.
Today, the château, elegantly refurbished by architect Alain Marty, welcomes guests in five superb guest rooms, offering a unique experience combining history, architecture and terroir, complemented by the refined cuisine of La Table de Valmy.
