    The Albères mountain range is the pride of Argelès, dominating the beach and the village. To say that we think big for our visitors is not just a figure of speech: the peaks of the mountain barrier rise to over 1000 meters. Awe-inspiring!

    Being close to the water to soak up the Mediterranean? What an idea! In the Albères massif, the lapping of the waves gives way to the creaking of branches beneath our feet, while the iodized scent of the sea replaces that of the olive trees. A veritable festival of sensations! Garrigues, rockroses and gorse: discover essences that smell of the south.

        From its 800 metre altitude, the Tour de la Massane watches over you. Take a hike to meet it! Once there, the view is well worth the effort: an exceptional panorama of the Roussillon plain and the Mediterranean coast. Want a tour?

        Climb the towers: visiting Argelès-sur-Mer without climbing the Tour de la Massane is a bit like preparing ouillade without dry-cured ham: unthinkable! Rendezvous at the Château de Valmy for a 14-kilometre loop.
