Put on your hiking boots and grab your rucksack: the Tour de la Massane is just waiting for you! Perched at 800 meters, it offers those who venture up a breathtaking view of the Roussillon plain and the Mediterranean…

On your marks. Ready to go? Climb up!

Only accessible on foot, the Tour de la Massane is nestled in the heart of the Albères massif in the Pyrenees. A real must-see for our destination! The ancient 13th-century watchtower has stood the test of time, and still keeps watch over the town of Argelès-sur-Mer from its heights… Why not take a closer look? During a hike, it’s not just the height difference that leaves you breathless: it’s the scenery too!

Our favorite hike : from Château de Valmy to Tour de la Massane

Whether you’re an amateur hiker or a seasoned walker, the Tour de la Massane trail is for everyone!

Between tracks and paths, forest and ancient sites, gain altitude step by step. Along the way, dolmens and ancient dry-stone shelters punctuate your walk in original ways. But your favorite part of this hike is the panorama that changes as you gain height: Argelès-sur-Mer, the Vermeille coast, and the ever-closer Tour de la Massane!

Once you’ve reached Font D’Andreu, the hardest part is already behind you. You’re on your way for the final stretch to the famous Tour de la Massane. You can already see it!

After winding your way through the few cows on the trail, take a look at the orientation table at the foot of the Tour de la Massane. You’ll be able to find out more about the peaks of the Albères massif that surround you, as well as others such as the Madeloc.
