Clean bathing water and children having fun in complete safety on a beach cleaned daily… That’s the joy of vacations in Argelès-sur-Mer!

Over the past 10 years, the quality of bathing water has improved considerably, in line with European directives. As one of the first coastal communities to equip itself with a high-performance wastewater treatment plant, Argelès was already acting as a pilot station in this field.

From June 15 to September 15, the D.D.A.S.S. regularly checks the quality of bathing water. And this year, as last year, you’ll be able to find the results of these analyses posted just as regularly at first-aid posts, at the offices of the Municipal Tourist Office (beach and village), at gendarmerie and municipal police stations, at the town hall, and on illuminated information panels.

The results of recent years prove it: you can swim in complete safety. Every year, Argelès is awarded the PAVILLON BLEU DES PLAGES PROPRES.
