Argelès-sur-Mer an XXL destination

Mélanie, Franck and their 8 children aged 16 to 1: Margot, Nino, Paolo, Elio, Hugo, Malo, Cléo and Marceau, are the stars of the TF1 show, Familles nombreuses, la vie en XXL.

Argelès-sur-Mer, an XXL destination

Summer vacations are very important to them. It’s an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company to the full, but also to treat themselves. Mélanie and Franck chose to spend a week in Argelès-sur-Mer, 18 years after their first vacation together, right here!

“The campsite we stayed at was very well located! We put the car down and then we can do everything on foot and especially go to the beach. It’s quiet, very relaxing and there’s plenty of shade. It can also be very lively: swimming pool, aquagym classes, theme evenings… and the restaurant is really good! Great when you don’t want to cook on vacation…

We leave the campsite, enter the allée des Pins and it’s immediately lively. We’re right in the middle of the beach center, which is very lively, especially at night with its lights, the smell of chichis and ice creams and its funfair. That’s what makes Argelès-sur-Mer so special. We have everything on site, and for us it’s a real vacation.
In the morning, the kids and I went for a “cocooning” breakfast at a beach club. The decor was magnificent, everything was homemade and the orange juice was freshly squeezed… There were games for the children and deckchairs for those who wanted them. The children then went off to play in the sea. We were really pampered!

With the older kids, aged 8 and over, we went out into the open sea on a giant paddle with a slide. It was great fun. With our life jackets on, we were able to jump into the water, forwards and backwards, run on the paddle, have a laugh… I had a blast with my kids!
my kids!
And then we went canyoning. I watched my children enjoying themselves, because I was a bit scared of it, I admit.

It’s not always easy to go to a restaurant with 10 people, especially with eight children. But in the little port restaurants, we were welcomed everywhere. Everything was very good and affordable. The kids were so happy to be in the restaurant with Mum and Dad.
We also went out to sea in a boat with a transparent hull. You absolutely have to do it! We got to see all the underwater
underwater life. Even my son, who was 10 months old at the time, was totally captivated.

It was a great stay, thanks in particular to the Argelès-sur-Mer tourist office, which was able to guide us towards the activities best suited to our family.”

The family first and foremost!

If ever there was a family-friendly destination, it’s our pretty town. It must have something to do with our southern culture, which puts the family at the heart of everything. Always! That’s why Argelès-sur-Mer loves to welcome all generations, surrounding them with attentions and taking care to ensure that everyone is welcomed and receives the most appropriate advice to make the most of their stay. Grandparents, parents and children… welcome!
